REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
ESPADARTE is a 49.80-metre Motor Yacht built in 1968 in Portugal, and the work centred on her aft swim platform, which had to be reconstructed rather than repaired in place. Once rebuilt, the platform needed a cladding solution that could stand up to constant exposure to water and sun without the recurring maintenance a swim platform normally demands.
YEKE Marine's team clad the reconstructed platform in iroko over epoxy-covered marine plywood, a combination that pairs a moisture-resistant structural base with a hardwood surface built for exactly this kind of marine exposure. The result is a swim platform rebuilt to the standard expected on a yacht of ESPADARTE's size and age.
The project was carried out at Bezzina Shipyard as part of ESPADARTE's 2025 repair and maintenance programme.
Its condition required full reconstruction rather than an in-place repair, after which it was clad in iroko over epoxy-covered marine plywood for long-term water and sun exposure.
